Pro is a separate plugin, and the free one stays installed. Your licence key arrives by email after checkout and the Squad Modules Pro build is in your Freemius account. Install it the way you install any plugin, from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, and leave Squad Modules Lite active and updated: Pro extends the free plugin's code and needs version 5.0.0 or newer of it. Pro declares the free plugin as a requirement, so WordPress will not let you activate Pro without it, and a free plugin that is present but too old gets an admin notice instead of a half-loaded Pro. Then click Activate License next to Squad Modules on the Plugins screen and paste the key. The Pro modules appear in the builder straight away, and nothing about your existing pages changes.

No, as long as the address looks local or staged to Freemius, which handles the licensing. It treats a site as non-production when the address is localhost or 127.0.0.1, when the hostname starts with local., dev., test., stage. or staging., when it ends in .local, .dev, .test, .staging, .example or .invalid, or when it is one of the staging hostnames used by WP Engine, SiteGround, Pantheon, GoDaddy, ngrok or WP Sandbox. Those activations are unlimited and never take a slot. A staging copy on an ordinary address, say beta.example.com, is not recognised and does count, so either give it one of the names above or keep a slot free for it.

Both. To move a licence, click Deactivate License next to Squad Modules on the site you are leaving. The slot is released immediately and the key can then be activated on the new site. Nothing breaks on the site you left, the Pro modules simply stop receiving updates. To cover more sites, open Divi Squad → Account in wp-admin, or the same account on Freemius, and use Change Plan. You keep the licence you have rather than buying a second one.

Yes. An annual licence renews once a year so that updates keep arriving, and a lifetime licence never renews at all. The date of the next charge and its amount are on the invoice Freemius sends you and in the licence email, which is also where you cancel. Cancelling stops the future charge and leaves the build you already have in place. We do not quote a renewal figure here, because a promotional purchase and a later plan change both move it, and the invoice is the copy that is right.

Updates stop, nothing switches off. The Pro plugin stays installed and its modules keep rendering on your pages, because a licence buys a period of updates, access to the paid build and its support, rather than permission to run the code. What ends is the update check that delivers new Pro versions, and the priority support channel. Renewing starts both again. The free plugin is unaffected either way: it is GPL and it updates from WordPress.org.

Lifetime is a single payment for the same licence, with no renewal date and no expiry. Because the licence never lapses, the period of updates and support it buys has no end date either, so neither stops after a year the way they do on the annual plan. It covers the same number of sites as the annual price above it on the same card, it is not a different product, and there is nothing extra inside it.

The plugin, by email, answered by the people who write it and before the free channels. That means installing and licensing, a module that does not do what its documentation says, a conflict with Divi or another plugin, and any bug you can reproduce. Yes, and the licensing is network aware. Squad Modules Pro turns on the Freemius multisite integration and puts its licence screens in the network admin, so a network administrator activates the key once for the network rather than visiting every site. The free plugin needs no activation at all. Two details worth knowing: the uninstall routine sweeps every site in the network in turn rather than only the one you delete from, and the Copy Post or Page extension can copy a layout from one site in the network to another, which is limited to super admins. For a network of any real size the unlimited plan is the one that fits, because it has no activation count to manage.

WordPress 6.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher, for the free plugin and for Pro alike. Divi has a floor of its own, version 4.14, and Pro additionally needs the free plugin at version 5.0.0 or newer. The free plugin is tested up to WordPress 7.1. If you are not sure what your site runs, Tools → Site Health → Info in wp-admin reports both versions.

Count the live sites you want Pro on, and count nothing else. Staging, development and local copies with an address Freemius recognises as such do not take a slot, so a live site with a staging clone is one site and not two. Single Site suits one live site of your own. Ten Sites suits a small client roster and gives you one key and one renewal date across it, with a slot coming back each time you deactivate the licence on a project you have handed over. Unlimited Sites suits an agency that would otherwise spend time counting, and a multisite network. Whichever you pick, you are not stuck with it: Change Plan in Divi Squad → Account moves you up and keeps the licence you already have. The features are identical on all three, so this is the only question the price answers. If cost is the deciding factor, the free plugin is 68 modules and stays free.

There is no time-limited trial, and that is on purpose: the free plugin is the trial. Its 68 modules and 8 extensions are the same code the paid build runs, with no locked settings, no watermark and no expiry, so you can put a real site together before you spend anything. What a licence adds is the 21 Pro modules, the 3 Pro extensions, updates for the paid build and priority email support. Ask within 14 days of buying and no explanation is required. Reply to the invoice Freemius sent you, write to support@squadmodules.com, or open a ticket, and include the email address you bought with, which is all we need to find the order. Freemius issues the refund to the card or account you paid with. The money leaves us the same day and your bank decides when it appears, usually a few business days and occasionally a full statement cycle. The licence is deactivated, so the paid build stops receiving updates, but a refund deletes nothing you have built and your pages keep working, though a layout that used a Pro-only module falls back once the paid build is removed.
