Getting Started

Placing your first module in the Divi Builder

2 min read Updated July 2026 Applies to: Lite & Pro

Squad modules behave exactly like native Divi modules, so if you have built a page with Divi before, there is nothing new to learn. This guide places your first Squad module and points out where its settings live.

Add a module to your layout

  1. Open any page in the Divi Visual Builder.
  2. Click the grey + icon inside a row to add a new module.
  3. In the module search box, type a Squad module name — for example Advanced Divider or Flip Box.
  4. Click the module (or drag it into the row) to drop it into place.

Squad modules appear in the same picker as Divi’s own modules, so you can also scroll the categories to browse what is available.

The three settings tabs

Every Squad module exposes the same three tabs Divi users already know:

  • Content — the text, images, links, and options that make up the module.
  • Design — typography, colors, spacing, borders, and animation.
  • Advanced — custom CSS, visibility, and CSS IDs and classes.

Saving your work

Module settings save with the rest of your page — there is nothing extra to configure or connect, no separate storage, and no shortcodes to manage. Save the page as normal and the module renders on the front end with only its own scoped assets.
